Ratings Tournaments

On the first Sunday of every month, except August, the Seattle Go Center hosts an AGA ratings tournament. The tournaments start at 1:00 PM and finish around 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Lasting three rounds, these tournaments afford the local AGA player a chance to get regular rated games in. If you can't attend the whole tournament, we still want you to come down and get some games in.

Rules

  • Japanese Counting
  • Super Ko - no repeated board positions
  • Time 45 minutes
  • Byoyomi 25 stones in 5 minutes Canadian Style

These tournaments, though rated, are supposed to promote a congenial and open atmosphere. Light conversation is not frowned upon, and there are designated areas where no talking is allowed.

Cost? Nothing! Well, you must have an AGA membership to play in an AGA tournament and these are AGA tournaments. Complete information concerning AGA membership can be found here: AGA Membership Page.
