[SGC Members] Guo Juan, Jiang Mingjiu, and Korean Consul Tournament

-	Workshop	-

This weekend we have Guo Juan visiting the Go Center. She will be teaching a workshop for the second straight year.  For those planning on attending, I have attached some problems/homework for you to work on before the workshop.  I will also have a link to it up on the web site for those of you that can.t open the attachment.  Guo Juan has a great teaching style and the workshop last year was a real joy.  Cost is $60 for lifetime, yearly and youth members and $90 for everyone else.  There is still room in the workshop so please send me an email if you plan on coming. (Note: June.s Ratings tournament will be held on June 8th.)

Also enter this on to your calendar; Jiang Mingjiu will be here to teach a one day seminar on the 26th of July.  Mingjiu is a great teacher and I always look forward to hearing his take on a certain position.  Cost for this workshop is $25 for Lifetime, Yearly, and youth members and $50 for everyone else.

-	Tournament	-

July 10th and 11th the Seattle Go Center will be hosting the Korean Consul Tournament.  Cost for the tournament is $30.  The tournament will last two days with the first day consisting of qualifying matches for the second day.  On the second day, there will be 8 players vying for first place in each of the sections.  There will be and open section, dan section and up to 2 kyu sections.  Pre registration will be available soon on the web site.  We are expecting Professional Korean players to be visiting during the tournament and I will keep you posted when I have more information.

-	Membership Drive	-

The membership drive is starting to pick up speed and we have already raised $2,500 of our $5,000 dollar goal! 

-	Go Congress	-

This year.s Go Congress will be held in Portland Oregon and, according to Chris Kirschner, it should be a great congress.  You can find more information about the congress at www.gocongress08.org .  Hope to see you at the Go Center soon!
