North American Masters Tournaments


Registration for the 2006 North American Masters Tournament (NAMT) is now open.

Play will begin on the Internet, June 17, 2006. new

Eligibility:

    Full AGA Member as of June 8th, 2006
    AGA rating of greater than 6.0 in the past year
    US or Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
    Living in the US for at least six of the last twelve months

Prize Money:

1st Place: $3,000
2nd Place: $2,000
3rd Place: $1,000
4th Place: $500


There will be two sections for this tournament.  The .A. section and the .B. section. 
The current champion, runner up, and All American professionals who enter the tournament will be seeded into the .A. Section. 

All other players will be ordered by AGA rating as of June 8th, 2006 and seeded into the .B. section.  The players in .B. section will participate in a single-elimination tournament to determine a representative to the .A. section.

Play in the .A. section will not begin until completion of the .B. section play.

Schedule for .B. section:

.B. section will play every Saturday at 4:00 PM EST starting on June 17th until a single player is left.  The pairings for these Saturday games will be emailed out on the prior Wednesday.  We will be using KGS for the .B. Section games.

Time: 1 hour each/ Canadian Overtime of 25 stones in 10 minutes.

Schedule for .A. section:

Following the completion of the .B. section tournament, the .A. section will start a round robin with games scheduled by the players with the help of the TD.  The top two players in this section will play a 3 game final at the Seattle Go Center the weekend of October 13th-15th (rescheduled).  Tie breaking will consist of Ing Tie Breaks.  In the event that a Tie still remains, a single elimination tournament based on seed will be played to break ties.
