Qualification

To compete in the Ing Redmond tournament you must have a rating of 5 Dan or higher in the AGA or CGA, be under the age of 31, and a citizen of either Canada, the United States or Mexico.

Schedule

This tournament will be held on the internet. In late March and April 2004, all players will compete in games assigned by the Tournament director. Each player will be expected to play one game a week during this period. At the end of April, the top two players will be selected to compete in the finals to be held in May. The form of the selection tournament will be determined based on the number of entrants.

Rules

Games will be played on IGS. Players will use the tmatch command to start games. The Black Player will start the game by issueing the "tmatch B 19 60 10" command. White will accept the game.

Ing counting will be used in all games. 8 point komi. Overtime is Canadian Byoyomi with 25 stones in 10 minutes. If you run out of time, you lose the game. IGS results may differ from ING results. The TD will score all close games. Game records of all games played need to be mailed to the Tournament Director.

Technical issues

If you are disconnected from IGS and can not return in a timely fashion, you must call the Tournament Director at (206)851-6597 with your move. In the event that the game can not be rescheduled the player that could not maitain connection will loose.

In the event that a player can not maintain a reliable connection the TD will attempt to reschedule the game so that technical difficulties can be resolved. In the event that the game can not be continued at a later time, the player with the poor connection will have a loss.

Finals

The top two finishers from the League will play a best of three tournament to be scheduled May. Finalists will have to have scribes.

First and second place will be determined by number of wins and SoS and SodS tie breaking.
